With our 28 years of experience and our Outstanding Customer service when you buy from Transplus you will get the dedication and assistance you expect to get. 1987 - 1996 F150 - Help e4od problems - Well got it all put in. Told me to bolt the torque converter to flywheel then put the trans up in to that. EXTREMELY lucky you crushed the transmission pump installing it like that. DieselSite Teaches Ford’s Old E4OD Every New Trick in the Book. We like hearing about new innovations for OBS diesel Fords, especially when such developments are designed to help bring the older vehicles into a newer age. Dieselsite.com ’s “Legendary” E4OD heavy-duty transmission ($3,399) and billet, multi-disc torque converter ($600). Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction Our rebuilt transmissions are taken apart, each part inspected. Then the parts are cleaned and examined, any worn or damaged parts are replaced. All manufacture updates are performed and the Transmission is like a new transmission. The parts list on our transmissions are the minimum parts we put in each transmission. We allow our customers to install the transmission without voiding the warranty. We send an installation sheet and other useful information with our transmissions. We also provide assistance during the installation process. Our motto is the only stupid question is the one not asked. There are many reasons for automatic transmission failures. Here are a few we see with installation failure. ![]() OUR NUMBER ONE TRANSMISSION FAILURE: INSTALLATION FAILURE IS LACK OF FLUID! PLEASE UNDERSTAND OUR UNITS ARE SHIPPED ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY! It may appear full. However, air can be trapped, all the drums, pumps etc. May not be completely filled in the unit. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE CALL US. Yes, experienced mechanics have damaged transmissions due to low fluid. NUMBER TWO: Not Flushing the transmission cooler lines and cooler until completely using either cooler flushing machine, or you can use compressed air an brake clean make sure the brake cleaner is completely blown out or get a can of cooler line flush. Low Fluid Level: How do we know its low fluid level? Because the conditions inside the transmission will be the same as low pressure since low pressure is the result of low fluid level. One quick indicator is the condition of the forward driving clutch. In most transmissions this is a non shifting clutch and has plenty of capacity. If the forward clutch frictions are failed or showing signs of distress, and there isn’t a pump failure or anything damaged in the circuit (sealing rings, lip seals), it’s a good indicator that the fluid level may have been low. If the 2nd gear friction element also shows damage, but the rest are in good shape, it is further confirmation. We’ve seen experienced shops damage transmissions because of low fluid level. I don’t believe this is done on purpose. I believe it to simply be a combination of poorly made parts (dipsticks), lack of knowledge of how to check the accuracy of the dipstick, and in some case being in a hurry or not fully completing a proper fill. A proper fill includes running the transmission through all the shifts with wheels of the ground and a short test drive with each gear change being made, and THEN final fluid level check. Plant pest and diseases. However the final fluid level check cannot be properly performed unless the dipstick measures correctly. Which needs to be done BEFORE the transmission is installed or by other methods that we’ll discuss. Check the accuracy of the dipstick. Add 4-6 quarts of fluid before starting a new install. Start engine and immediately begin filling. Letting the engine run with only 6 qts. For only a short time will cause damage to the transmission.
